All Shelter Shacks are fitted out with fixtures and fittings, like light switches, toilets, bathroom and kitchen sinks, taps, basins. Please refer to this link for a full list of inclusions.
We also offer a fully furnished, styled option, in collaboration with brands including Pony Rider, The Modern Furniture Shop, Coco Republic and ABI Interiors who are offering interior design solutions with a Shelter Shacks discount.

Yes, all the components are designed to be able be lifted by few strong able-bodied types. To minimise waste the panels are packaged for immediate erection. If you need to store your panels then you will need a shed or similar where you store them high and dry.

Well, yes, however the most important part of the build is getting everything level, plumb and in the right place. If you know how to do this your well on your way to being able to build your own shack.
We do offer how to build workshops where you can get “hands on/putting a shack together” experience to see if it suits you.
You will need to contact your local authority to see what their requirements for “owner builders” are.
Plumbing and Electrical must be carried out by certified trades.

Yes. Shelter Shacks are designed to be taken apart, relocated, and extended.
You have to take them apart in the reverse order that they were put together however
so, you need to plan your extensions carefully, or let us plan them for you.

Yes, we have builders who would love to build it for you. If you provide your site address, we will prepare a cost estimate.

For smaller Shelter Shacks - three weeks to complete, for larger Shelter Shacks - up to six weeks.

50% upfront upon booking and 50% at the start of the build.

Yes, there are options to alter the floor plan, window & door locations, and all internal finishes.

Shelter Shacks are like any house, they don’t have fire ratings.
If you wish to build in a bush fire rated zone, talk to us about the requirements of your local authority and we will advise suitability.

All Shelter Shacks have pitched rooves, with ceiling heights from 2.7m to 4.5m for the skillion roof option and high for 2 storey Shacks.
Ceiling heights in downstairs rooms and under sleeping lofts are 2.4m

A fall of 1m across the footprint of the house suits our standard design.
If your block is steeper, we can ask our architects and engineers to let us know how we can make it work.

Yes, Shelter Shacks are made for off grid, remote locations. We can help with solar power, sewerage treatment and water tanks.

Shacks are built on galvanised steel stumps and concrete footings. No slab is required to build.

Yes, we can organise your building approvals or you can do it yourself.

Yes, all our buildings come with 10-year warranty.
If you choose the interiors package, fittings and fixtures will be covered by Manufacturer’s warranties. It’s important here to differentiate the difference between building and fixtures and fittings.

Yes, we can provide our system for your use, or our architects can assist with commercial use. We offer a turnkey service from initial design consultation through to construction delivery.
